Học Viện Bốc Dịch Vô Tranh grew from one wish: to demystify Bốc Dịch (I Ching Six Lines divination) — there is nothing to hide in reading a hexagram, because it is all simple. Simple in a biological sense: no part of it requires a special gift or a “chosen one” from legend. It only has to be learned, and anyone can reach it.
Founder
Vi Nhật Sơn, styled Vô Tranh (“without contention”) — founder of Học Viện Bốc Dịch Vô Tranh, author of the book Bốc Dịch Đại Toàn and of the Bốc Dịch Dictionary on this site.
Who am I? I did not choose the name Vô Tranh, and I had no teacher in this field. Everything began as theory, then was checked against reality: what is right, what is wrong, what is worth keeping. Over many years of practice and research I have read on the order of 30,000 to 40,000 hexagrams — based on ten to fifteen a day, more when younger (thirty to fifty on some days), balanced against long stretches of reflection.
Proven in practice
That “anyone can learn” is not a slogan. It shows most clearly in one-to-one classes, where each person finds their own way in. Across many nationalities and professions, no meaningful obstacle has appeared to suggest that the I Ching cannot be understood.
Since it began in September 2020, the academy has taught about 2,000 students across all its courses.

How the academy works
The academy runs in cycles: three years of work, three years of pause to look at the world, then three more — to avoid repeating what has grown too old.
The Bốc Dịch AI version is this cycle’s new approach. In essence it is no different from my own reading of a hexagram. What differs: in a live session I sometimes cannot say everything I have given the AI. Another part is caution, because determinacy — what is certain to happen if the hexagram is correct — lies in the outcome and the timing of fulfilment (when the event happens, or when the result is settled). The added notes and advice, on the other hand, cannot always be fully spoken in the time available. So the most reliable path is for you to know, objectively and as fully as possible, what this hexagram is saying, and then judge for yourself.
AI and people
Almost any hexagram can be worked through. But seeking fortune and avoiding harm is work done directly with a person; the AI only presents objective reality. So if you feel you need to act on an unfavourable result, please contact the academy.
On the trial figure: the AI system has been tested on roughly 5 billion hexagrams. That is the machine’s work, not a person’s, and not a count of casual readings.
